{Happy Thanksgiving...}

...from me to you!
Today has been a nice, relaxing day - I hope that all of you out there celebrating are pleasantly full and ready to let the tryptophan set in. I know I am.

It's almost 5pm - I've made an entire dinner (Con's and my first alone together) and am now settling in to head to bed EARLY in order to get up and work at 3:30am! Wish me luck, and if you're out shopping early, I wish YOU luck!

{Chicken McNuggs...}

I think the McDonald's Gods are after me. They know they can get me with nuggs.

Apparently they are having some sort of "Nugg" contest that consists of eating said nuggets and receiving Amazon gift cards in return (if chosen as "Head Nugg," of course). Well, that does it. Off to McDonald's.

{Missed Eye Doctor Appt...}

10 minutes too late.
I can't believe it. I haven't been in like, oh, maybe 4 years.
I do wear contacts, by the way.
I actually have a feeling that after this next, rescheduled appointment
I will be able to see in ways I cannot remember.

Perhaps my poor vision is to blame for the time I gave Con a haircut.
That's right, a haircut.
It resulted in the nickname "Patchy."
I've got to write things down.
I went in, proud to be 20 minutes early...
only to find out I was scheduled at 3 rather than 4.
Boo.

Oh well. I didn't have my signature sunnies with me - they broke (rather, exploded from the looks of it) in my purse.
I was told my pupils may be dilated and I'd come out like a bat, afraid of the sunlight.
So maybe it was meant to be?
I'll have to order new ones ASAP!

This entry looks like a Haiku.

{Award for Moi}

Link
I received an award today from the lovely
Princess Freckles of Her Highness of Cute!

You have to pass it on to 5 other fabulous blogs in the post.

Most of my peeps have probably already been given this award because they have been fab for awhile!
1. ...Wearing Mascara
2. Southern Belle
3. Muffy Martini
4. Dolce Chic
5. Tres Poshe Preppy

You have to list 5 of your fabulous addictions in the post.

1.
I love it. Con and I pop fresh corn almost every night. It's gotta be on the stove, popped in oil (quite healthy, you see).
2.
It inspires me to be a better chef.
Or rather, a better cook. I'm probably more at the level of a cook, huh?

3.
I don't know what it is.
Perhaps growing up watching him on PBS and BBC shows?
And the fact that he has resurfaced as House?
Which I also love....

4.
It's an obsessive habit -
first stalking them,
then repeatedly trying them on,
and finally purchasing them to live with the others that inhabit your home.

5. This one's a toss up -
Conor (my boyfriend) and Binx (full name, Sleepy Binx), my blanket. Yes, that's right. BLANKET. Deal with it.

You must copy and paste the rules and the instructions below in the post.
Instructions: On your post of receiving this award, make sure you include the person that gave you the award and link it back to them. When you post your five winners, make sure you link them as well. To add the award to your post, simply right-click, save image, then "add image" it in your post as a picture so your winners can save it as well. To add it to your sidebar, add the "picture" gadget. Also, don't forget to let your winners know they won an award from you by emailing them or leaving a comment on their blog.

{Alright, I'm really back for good...}

Sorry, sorry...I've had the busiest past few weeks, but am back and ready to blog! With the holidays coming up, I'm going to have lots of fun stuff going on - cooking, baking, shopping, parties....you get the idea.

In honor of the upcoming gift season today I'm going to share a few items on my wishlist. Think Oprah's Fav. Things, but Piper-influenced instead.
I wish I could give you all each of these just like Ope, but alas, no sponsorship here!

First up, the Chanel Multi-Use Make-up palette in Lumiere Tendresse.
I've been waiting for new colors forever and voila - they are here!
2 glosses, 2 lipsticks, blush and 4 fabulous shadows.
This one is not the actual colors, but you get the idea. GET ONE.

The Alfred Hitchcock Signature Collection.
Been waiting on this one since last year, peeps!
Kidding, but I do love that you can watch his films over and over.
This collection has some great ones:
Strangers on a Train, North by Northwest, Suspicion
...and many more.

The Top Chef Cookbook.
I love this show.

Tartan: Romancing the Plaid.
Well, I do love everything Burberry.
It just seems to want to live on my coffee table.

A red Le Creuset dutch oven.
I really want an entire set, but the ol' dutch oven is kind of a catch-all.

And finally, a sleep mask a la Holly Golightly.
Too. Darn. Cute.

What do you want for Christmas/Hanukkah this year?

{New Apartment Pics!}

I finally got the computer, camera and cords all coordinated and was able to upload some pictures tonight! I'm currently depending on the ol' G4 Mac, so things are a bit slower than my laptop (no wireless yet, grr). This means pictures won't look as great as they possibly could - but what the hell, I'm lucky to be posting!

Here's the view from the dining area into my new living room. We have a little balcony off the front...there are currently no pics on the walls and some random stuff in the foreground, but you get the idea.

Here the view back towards the kitchen - another balcony in the back of the building. This will be where our grill (not yet adopted) will live.

The bedroom and bathroom are off the the right of the kitchen pick - all very small, but very cozy.

So, a glimpse into my current living situation - kinda messy and unorganized, but I'm getting there. I'll feel settled when I finally find my forks. Yes, forks.

{Absense...}

I think it's been about a week now since I've been able to blog my little heart away. I'm missing it, my readers, and the blogs I read very much!

But, I moved! Yay, all done. Well, not really. I'm done with the labor-intensive part, but now comes the arranging, decorating, and finding of elusive cords. Such as the cord needed to upload my many wonderful pictures currently sleeping peacefully on my camera.

This is a picture by my talented (I mean, capturing that wonderful moment and all!) friend Julie. It depicts my current status. Crazed, wined, and over it.

I've got lots to share - Halloween parties, re-vamped chairs (these are amazing!!), and of course, my new space. So stay tuned.
