{Cocktails}

Today while walking to my car after class, I realized I wanted a drink. And not just a beer or a glass of wine, but a cocktail. A nice, summery, refreshing cocktail. Margarita? Mojito? I simply cannot decide! With the balmy 78 degree weather these just seem perfect.
Here are a few of my faves:
I already know that some of you adore Mojitos as much as I. The trick? Getting a really good one. I've had bad Mojitos...when they are bad, they are BAD.

Champagne & Chambord is my all-time favorite. Champagne, hello?! It's très simple: splash a bit of Chambord in the bottom of a glass, then fill with champagne. Voila!
{I usually garnish mine with a lovely curl of lemon.}

Another refreshing choice is the classic Tom Collins. Here's a recipe from scratch....I myself buy the mix & add gin & soda. I'm lazy like that. If you've never experienced the T.C., check it out. It's sweet & sour & tangy & light. I it.

So there you have it. 3 lovely warm-weather cocktails. Give 'em a try, or stick with your tried & true Budweiser. You know I'd never judge.

Yum! Did I ever tell you about the drink my mom makes with 3 bud lights (or your favorite beer) with half a can of frozen minute maid limeade. It's so yummy :)

Would you believe that this past weekend was the first time I had ever had a mojito?? Oh my goodness...so amazing!

Ooh, these are some of my favorites, too.

I completely agree: creating a mojito is an art form. 1/2 the time, they're horrible; when they're good, they're wonderful.

Cheers, darlin.

I love having a delicious mojito when the weather gets nicer.

My friend also has a recipe for beer-margaritas. I know it probably sounds a little strange, but it is delicious! I actually need to get it off of her.

I would love a "warm weather" drink right now on a porch somewhere but not here in Maine!

Thanks for the boot suggestion!

You are so right about bad mojitos...there is nothing worse than ordering one and being super excited to taste it's minty goodness, then realizing the bartender clearly has no idea what he/she is doing.

Um, I could totally go for one of those cocktails right now!

My mouth is watering! I only recently discovered mojitos and I agree, sometimes they are really good and then sometimes they are REALLY bad.

The BEST 'diet' Margaritas - all yr round: shot (or 2!) of Patron Silver, diet lime-ade (whole foods, or large grocery chain) & fresh lime juice...you can drink it and not get a hangover bc theres no sugar (and low in calories!) Sweet!
