Shoe Confusion

I need advice. How do you lovelies feel about shoes "designed" {I use that term loosely, as we all know these ladies simply put their name on the things} by celebrities? Case in point - I developed a crush on a pair of pretty, bow-topped pumps by Valentino awhile back. I love bows. Well, needless to say, I couldn't afford to buy them, as their retail price was higher than my monthly rent.
1. Valentino's bow-detailed d'Orsay {$695}
2. Paris Hilton's Senorita pump {$89}

Here's the dilemma. Paris Hilton {aka Satan}, has come out with a similar shoe. I actually really, really like it. Sadface. What to do? It's under $100 & super hilarious. I want them to live with me. But Miss Hilton leaves little to be desired in my book, so I am stuck between a rock & a hard place.

Thoughts?

Buy Paris' version and pretend they're not hers.

You have to get Paris' shoe, I just wouldnt flaunt the designer name around ;)!

Do the Paris shoes have red soles, making them Christian Louboutin imposters? I think the shoes themselves are cute but I cringe that she is ripping off the signature feature of his shoes!

get the cheap ones! no one has to know they are "designed" by paris.

I would totally get the "cheap" ones. They really are to die for!

They are soooo cute! I say get them. I actually wear some of Jessica Simpson's shoes.

Get the cheaper ones and then pretend they are Louboutins since they have a red sole! No one is going to get close enough to your shoes to know it isn't the real thing. I have a "coach" bag that I got on the side of the road in Atlanta that I do this with. Everytime I get a compliment and then they ask where I bought it, I say I got it a couple years back at a department store. No one knows but me :)

I say for Hilton's shoes. I used to feel the same way about Jessica Simpson's shoes until I tried them on. They're adorable, comfy and way more affordable than most shoes.

they are super cute, I'd buy the paris hilton ones.

Get them, and who cares about Paris :)

Fuck it. Do it. No one will know. Just never take them off at a party. The soles look pink, not red, correct? No one would dare rip that off. What a skank for trying to come close.

I wish I had your rent.

Here's the thing. Paris did NOT design that shoe. No one would ever look at that shoe and be all "oh, that looks like a Paris Hilton design". Right?

Do ittttt.

I had the same dilemma with Jessica Simpson shoes. My love for the shoes won over my unlike of Jessica Simpson. Let the shoes win! They are so cute!!!

Definitely buy them! They are gorgeous, and nobody will know they are Paris Hilton's shoes. ignore the name and love the saving money part. It's kind of like how my love of saving money overrides my hatred of Walmart. :)

I can't wait to get a pair of Paris shoes! Go for it! I used to scoff at the idea of Jessica Simpson shoes - until I tried on a pair, not realizing what brand they are and I'm hooked - I have like 5 pairs of JS shoes already and they're all super cha cha!

Do it dude. I know what you mean though but I would just do it anyways. I actually love Jessica Simpson shoes so I'm in the same boat. xoxo

I say if you like them, go for it. Who cares about Paris, she probably doesn't even know she has a shoe line--haha

J'adore those shoes!!!
ENJOY your week-end with your best friend!!!

They look SOOO similar, so buy a couple pairs of "less expensive" to-die for heels to make up for what you would have spent on the Valentino ones!

I feel the same way about some of the celebrity lines, such as Jessica Simpson's. But I think if it's a cute shoe and the price is right, just go for it. Most people will just compliment you on your awesome shoes without ever knowing they aren't the Valentinos :)

Haha- I always feel the same conflict about celebrity designs/fragrances... I always feel that in wearing them I'd be branding myself as a loyal devotee, so I typically avoid them. But then there is the part of me that thinks-- if I like it, why not just get it? I think I should adopt that attitude all the time, and with that, I say get the Paris ones! My checking account would certainly agree that is the better choice of the two!
