{Fun Gifts}

My mother has always been super organized & prepared for any occasion.
She used to have {maybe still does?} little hostess gifts & greeting cards on hand for any holiday or event. I think this is such a great idea for those last-minute parties or {forgotten!} birthdays.

I Fred Flare & their lighthearted, fun items. Here are a few of my faves...
{All items from fredflare.com}

While everyone is buying fancy BlackBerrys & iPhones, you can impress your friends with the always lovely cell phone receiver. {I mean, come on, it's funny.}

And the candles would come in quite handy when you realize it's your best pal's b-day & you need to turn that McDonald's cheeseburger into a makeshift b-day cake.

How about you?

Do you all keep cards & hostess gifts around for emergency's sake?
There are lots of fun options, so maybe you should consider it...
& pick something up for yourself, while you're at it!

I have cards, but no gifts. I always forget birthdays, in fact I missed the birthdays of both my brother-in-law and both elderly grandparents in March. I am going to hell.

I like the mini rain boot garden, very cute!

I buy cards for all kinds of events year-round, usually with a specific person in mind, but then when the birthday/anniversary/holiday/etc finally rolls around, I have no memory of where I stashed the card!

We keep Christmas cards, but nothing else. I did in fact by something for my mom one time thinking I would send it to her whenever the next holiday came up. That was 3 years ago. I still have it.

Those matchbook-style candles are so cute! I've been trying to keep a stock of cards at the ready for any occasion, but I wish I was better about keeping a few gifts on hand too.

My mom does the same thing...I'm always amazed when she pulls some fabulous little gift out of a closet. I really need to get in the habit of keeping cute gifts on hand.

Love the gifts! Particularly that cell phone receiver! I usually keep a variety of cards but not small gifts. I just hate having anything that could become extra clutter in the house.

I am so impressed by people like your mom who are so on top of things and so organized! I keep hoping to turn into that sorta person one day. You know, when I grow up. But I'm almost 27, and I'm still not there. Oh well! :/

Actually, I was just thinking I need to keep some "thank you" cards on hand... I should definitely add "emergency presents" to that list! Though I always have a bottle of wine hanging around...

I have no cards, or gifts. I'm failing in that department! Ah!

This post made me laugh. My mom is the QUEEN of having "something just right in the closet". In turn I swore I would never have a closet devoted to presents for people who I didn't knwo who I was giving them to. It's a great idea, but I just can't do it.

I'm a big fan of having extra clever cards laying around, mostly because when I NEED a card I can never find a good one (okay, and because I get a little late on b-day cards, too). My favorite? On the front is a photo of a beer with the word "breakfast"; on the inside: "Because there are only 24 hours in a birthday." Well said, greeting-card writer.

I love those boots! My aunt has flowers in my cousin's boots in her garden: it's the cutest thing.

As for having gifts and cards 'on hand,' my mum had a basket in the closet with these, too. So cute.

My mom does the same thing! I have tried to keep extra bottles of wine and wine bags around for last minute gifts! The glass water bottles are great!
