{Party Time}

My dear friend & of my life Cassandra over @ Happy Panda was discussing upcoming party ideas with me last night. There are just too many parties & too little time!
Here are a few doozies we came up with...
Obviously, our staple & the beginning of it all, the Annual Kentucky Derby Party. We hold this every year at my lovely friend Shelley's home {Miss Mass for Shut-Ins} complete with Mint Juleps, bocce ball, gorgeous hats, & gambling {for fun, of course...no illegal bets here!}.
{Look closely - it's 2 wolves in 1!}
You know Wolf shirts, right?
In comes the W O L F party. I think this could be my fave for a full-moon night fête. It's the brainchild of Cassie & a trip to a truck stop, I believe.
We're also both kinda in with Twilight, and this party over at Hostess with the Mostess looks pretty fab. We simply cannot pass up the opportunity!

{Apparently the Indian gets no weapon...}
Some other possibilities? Cowboys & Indians {we all need a little childhood fun every now & then}, Halloween Murder Mystery dinner par-tay, High Tea, the good ol' standby - Wine & Cheese, our friends T & C's "Hot" Party, & many, many more.

I'm pretty sure I could find a reason for a party a week. Perhaps that will be my resolution for 2010. How about you all? Any party ideas I'm blatantly forgetting & need to add to my repetoire?

what fun you are going to have all summer!
what about a beer party {feastival in your own back yard} send invites with the kind of beer they need to bring a 6 pk (or 12 pk) of and everyone gets to share.

We are actually going to the Derby this year, but a few weeks later, I'm hosting a KY Derby coffee for my husband's battalion. I'm hoping I can pick up a few souvenirs for decorating!

ooooh, Derby parties are my absolute favorite! when i lived in New York City (where approximately 0% of people celebrate the Derby) my friends and I had a "Derby in the City" party, complete with those broomstick horses. we decided to take our party out to the bars, and let me just tell you, the sight of girls and guys in Derby attire, "riding" horses down 1st avenue...was a sight :)

LOVE all parties! Sounds like so much fun.

I'm totally going to have a Twilight party myself for New Moon!

oh soo fun! Love all those party ideas! I've always wanted to do a murder mystery party! How about something with dancing, a masquerade party, we always used to joke with our friends about having a ball of some sort so we could all wear our wedding dresses again, ha!

Cute ideas! I love the kentucky Derby idea and the cowboy and Indians theme too!

The party should be fun!

I second the Cinco de Mayo idea.

Also: White Party! I've always wanted to do a white party, but you can't get people in Portland to respect a dress code...this is the land of jeans at the Opera.

I'm thinking about a Bastille Day party.

ohmygosh wolve/wolf shirts (sp?) They are so funny my bestie and I have this inside joke with those shirts and always point them out when we see them in public on people. It's a weird thing we laugh at ;)

So, scary thing: I'm pretty sure an ex-boyfriend of mine owns that wolf shirt. He was really into wolves (like, REALLY). Can I emphasize the "ex" part of that boyfriend statement?

I'm not sure if this officially counts as a party, but I'd like to add Girl on Grill to the list. That's summer epitomized!

And lastly, DERBY! "On the 10th day of derby..."

No ideas, but hooray for Derby party! Any excuse to make mint juleps and hot browns. Oh, and I need to find a big hat...

Omg, if you have a wolf party, you totally have to take pictures and post them. That would be awesome.
